Rechtin takes the reins at Envision.

James “Jim” Rechtin has been named president and CEO of Envision Healthcare, replacing longtime president and CEO Christopher Holden. Envision, headquartered in Nashville, is one of the country’s largest physician service companies. HealthExec reports that the switch is coming at a time when “Envision, which is owned by private equity firm KKR, faced criticism over the past few years about its billing practices, with claims that the company has a higher rate of surprise billing that negatively impacts patients." More From HealthExec: “‘Despite previous media speculation, former CEO Chris Holden’s departure from Envision on February 5th was unrelated to surprise billing or the congressional inquiries surrounding surprise billing,’ an Envision spokesperson told Health Exec.” Rechtin, who will also be on Envision’s board of directors, joins Envision from the healthcare services company OptumCare where he served as president. He was previously regional president of DaVita Medical Group.

Jeff Flocken has been appointed to the board of directors of Beacon Healthcare Systems, a compliance and risk management company. Flocken has a35-year career in healthcare spanning a variety of organizational settings, including serving for five years as senior vice president of the western region for Tenet Healthcare. There, he held responsibility for 12 acute care hospitals, six ambulatory surgery centers and nine diagnostic imaging centers and oversaw the region’s implementation and monitoring of Tenet’s corporate ethics, integrity and compliance programs. Before Tenent, Flocken served in multiple executive capacities for the St. Joseph Health System including serving as senior vice president and chief operating officer for the 14 hospitals and ambulatory care clinics in California, Texas and New Mexico. He began his career with UniHealth America, where over an 18-year career he rose to serve as chief executive officer of the nonprofit system’s flagship hospital, Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and vice president of the system’s medical centers divisionFounded in 2011, Beacon is a privately held California-based company with a technology center located in Austin, Texas.

Diana Allen, has been named president and CEO of The SSI Group, a claims management company in Mobile, Alabama.
Allen most recently served as executive consultant for large physician and health system medical groups for Culbert Healthcare Solutions in Woburn, Massachusetts. She is an adjunct professor of healthcare administration for Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Allen’s background includes serving as CEO of Physicians Professional Services in Medford, Massachusetts, where she oversaw revenue cycle processes and business growth for the Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and development and expansion efforts for the departments of dermatology, medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, and neonatology.

Welldoc, a digital health company, andRedox, an interoperability platform, are forming a strategic partnership. The press release about the new pairing says it will allow providers to receive and review insights about users of Welldoc’s BlueStar digital health app for diabetes management directly within their EHR. “To be successful, digital health solutions require frictionless data flow for the consumer and clinicians. We have done that for the consumer with integrations into their devices,” said Anand Iyer, Welldoc’s  chief strategy officer. 

BridgeHealth, a Denver company that arranges valued-based contracts with surgical centers for self-insured health plans, has named Jamie Hall as its president. Hall joined BridgeHealth in 2018 as its chief growth officer. Hall started his healthcare career with Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Since then, he has served in several leadership roles with early-stage, high-growth companies, including chief growth officer at LifeNexus and chief sales and marketing officer at Certifi, Inc.
