National Nurses United’s (NNU) research arm, the Institute for Health and Socio-Economic Policy, conducted research on hospital pricing practices. It found evidence of what the group calls “price gouging” and “racketeering.”
Here are the top 10 hospitals with inflated prices (by total charges as a percent of total costs), according to NNU.

CMS Launches Value-Based Gene Therapy Program for Sickle Cell Disease
July 16th 2025CMS is brokering outcomes-based agreements on behalf of Medicaid programs. Thirty-three states, along with Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, have signed on, collectively covering about 84% of Medicaid enrollees with sickle cell disease.
