Salt, pro and con

Scientists continue to disagree about the importance of a low-salt diet in maintaining healthy blood pressure. A study described in the January 4 New England Journal of Medicine found that a balanced diet—rich in fruit, vegetables and low-fat dairy products—can be just as effective as reducing salt intake.
