A Look at PBM Reform and Transparency: Payer, Provider and Patient Impact
This webinar brings together a multidisciplinary panel to examine how recent regulatory, legislative, and legal developments—including CAA requirements, FTC actions, ongoing liability suits, and labor law decisions—are reshaping transparency and accountability among pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in the United States. Moderated by Ron Lanton III, Esq, Senior Partner and Global Strategist at Lanton, Lanton & Sosa Law PLLC, the discussion features Kathy W. Oubre, MS, CEO of Pontchartrain Cancer Center; Elizabeth Mitchell, President and CEO of Purchaser Business Group on Health; and Robyn S. Crosson, JD, Vice President of Government Relations at Navitus Health Solutions. The panelists discussed how these changes affect the relationship between employers and PBMs, whether PBMs may find ways to sidestep new regulations, and how smaller PBMs could be positioned to innovate and compete against larger players. The conversation also addressed the growing direct-to-consumer push from initiatives like GoodRx, Amazon, and TrumpRx, the potential impact on biosimilar formulary access and adoption, and the ripple effects on both large retail chains and independent pharmacies. This webinar was presented jointly by Managed Healthcare Executive (MHE), Pharmacy Times, and American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC).
