How PBMs are supporting women’s health, Part 1

Women face more gaps in healthcare than men, from missed screenings, undertreatment and biased coverage. PBMs are launching programs to address some of the gaps.

Women are less likely than men to be screened for many conditions, including cardiovascular diseases, gynecological conditions, maternal health and mental health. These gaps come from a lack of adequate access to healthcare, according to a report published in May 2026 that was conducted by McKinsey Health Institute and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
