7 Takeaways from CMS Projections for U.S. Healthcare Spending

The CMS released its projections earlier this month, saying healthcare spending will hit $7.7 trillion by 2032.

Earlier this month, the CMS Office of the Actuary released its annual projections for United States healthcare spending, published simultaneously as an article in Health Affairs. The CMS experts said increases in healthcare spending in the United States are likely to exceed growth in the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). As a result, healthcare spending as a share of GDP is expected from 17.3% in 2022 to 19.7% in 2032.
