Lucinda “Cindy” Ehnes has what she calls “the best job in the healthcare world.” In March, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger-appointed Ehnes director of the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC), an entity unique in the United States because it’s the only state agency whose sole function is managed healthcare and whose structure encompasses the full range of state-level regulatory responsibility.
