Washington, D.C.-A program to post comparative drug prices offered by competing Medicare discount cards drew complaints and criticism from sponsors and seniors as the program tried to get going in recent weeks. The price data was so unclear that HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson urged Medicare beneficiaries to wait for prices to shake out during the first month before signing up for a card, which seniors were able to do as of June 1.
