Metabolic Syndrome Criteria
- Abdominal obesity
40 inches in men
>35 inches in women
- Elevated triglycerides and small LDL particles
≥150 mg/dL
- Low HDL cholesterol
<40 mg/dL in men
<50 mg/dL in women
- Raised blood pressure
≥ 135/85 mm HG
- Fasting glucose
≥ 100 mg/dL
The CDC also includes proinflammatory state and prothrombotic state in its definition.
