AI Crucial Tool for Patient Management, Lowering Readmission Risk, Expert Says

In healthcare settings, AI can improve patient outcomes by summarizing data and predicting readmission risk, according to Steven Buslovich, M.D., CMD, MS, chief medical officer of senior care at PointClickCare, an AI-driven, cloud-based electronic healthcare record platform for senior care providers.

“If you think about the weakest link in their health care ecosystem, it's usually when an individual patient transitions from one care setting to another,” Buslovich said in a recent video interview with Managed Healthcare Executive. “That's where communication gaps exist, and we need to utilize employee AI technologies to help those caregivers or entities bearing the risk downstream to summarize information in a cohesive way.”
