Workplace chronic disease management programs pay off
By Jeanne Sabatie, Production Editor
Results from a worksite asthma education program, conducted by Wayne Burton, MD (B&H editorial board member and corporate medical director at Bank One in Chicago) and colleagues, showed improved asthma control behaviors of participants. The data suggests that such programs should reduce absenteeism and medical care costs and improve productivity. The report is in the February issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
