Trend lines in hmo enrollment have remained fairly steady for the last10 years. January 2002 average enrollment (see chart, next page) showsa slight 1.7% drop from January 2001, which can be attributed to a numberof factors, including the growth of PPOs and the rise in unemployment rates.
