A breakdown of the current state of the medical coder shortage, and visual roadmap to help ambulatory facilities overcome avoidable backlog, denials and compliance risks. Using a combination of medical coding industry publications and 3M data, our goal was to determine how the coder shortage can impact a facility, how industry leaders are responding and ultimately formulate a recommendation for health information management teams.
