Government, payers eye bonuses for quality providers
Washington, D.C. - A report from the Institute of Medicine urgesgovernment health programs, such as Medicare and Medicaid, to provide financialincentives and other rewards for providers that achieve high marks for qualityof care. Meanwhile, private employers and health insurers are launchingbonus programs to encourage providers and plans to meet certain quality-of-carestandards.
