Light to moderate physical activitywalking just an hour a week, for exampleis associated with lower coronary heart disease rates in women. Though vigorous exercise reaps an even greater benefit, a study in The Journal of the American Medical Association's March 21 issue, which followed activity levels of more than 39,000 women aged 45 and older, found that time spent walking was more important than intensity in predicting the lower risk of CHD.
